Who can attend?
All A.A. members in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan are encouraged to attend.
What is a Mini Conference?
The mini conference is an opportunity for interested A.A. members to shape the area conscience (similar to a group conscience). It is a great way to learn about the issues being addressed at the General Service Conference coming up in April in New York.
The mini conference also provides an excellent opportunity to share with others involved in service. You can learn more about the various ways Area 55 helps carry the message to the still suffering alcoholic.
How do I register to attend?
Registration for the Area 55 Mini Conference is available online at the bottom of this page. The cost for registration is $25.00 per person if paying by check or cash. When registering online, the cost for registration is $28.00 per person. Please register in advance if possible. Registrations are also accepted at the door.
What if I need to travel?
There will be hotel rooms available at Hampton Inn by Hilton Bowling Green. The hotel is located at 142 Campbell Hill Rd, Bowling Green, OH 43402. Check back later for booking details and group code.
Why do I have to pay?
While there are no dues or fees for membership in A.A., it is the practice of Area 55 General Service that each individual event be self-supporting. The Mini Conference requires money to host. Our expenses include: venue, registration supplies and online payment fees, printing of flyers, programs, and background material, purchase of literature relevant to the agenda that will be discussed, mailing costs, food, and beverages. We do not pay our speakers, but we do provide for their expenses to attend.
What if I cannot afford registration?
Every A.A. member who has an interest to attend the conference can participate – regardless of financial status. Members and groups donate scholarships for those who are unable to pay. Please click here to register for the conference while using a scholarship.
